About Kinship
The Charity's objects ('the Objects') are: To promote the better care, upbringing and establishment in life of children, in particular by: (a) promoting the role of kinship care, and also care by grandparents at all levels, particularly in circumstances of family breakdown, single parenthood or other difficult conditions. (b) supporting and advising grandparents and other kin who are acting as, or intend to act as carers, particularly in the circumstances mentioned above. (For the purposes of the charity, 'kinship care' is defined as the full-time nurturing and protection of children who must be separated from their parents, and is carried out by relatives, godparents, stepparents or other adults that have a kinship bond with the child.)
