The said subjects shall be held by the said Trustees in trust for and used only for the purpose of providing a Day Nursery for the children of a parent or parents residing in Paisley with power to the said Trustees in the event of legislation or State intervention ever making it in their opinion unnecessary for Independent Institutions to carry on the work presently carried on by the said Institutions to vary alter and revoke during the lifetime of the said Elizabeth Lady Smiley the aforesaid Trusts in such manner and form as they and she may decide...so as to make them applicable for the best relief and behoof of the infirm and suffering poor children of Paisley in such manner and form as they may think right and for the purpose of giving effect to such altered or new trusts.
