The preservation of railway and tramway heritage, for the public benefit, by the promotion of museums and other bodies concerned with rail transport heritage that provide open access to the public, and assistance in restoration projects. The advancement of education in railway and tramway heritage by training, instruction and otherwise by supporting and disseminating research.
