4 The company is established for charitable purposes only, in particular the relief of those in need through: 4.1 Providing a telephone befriending service to promote the health, social welfare and safety of people throughout the UK and Ireland (the Operating Area), particularly vulnerable individuals including but not limited to the elderly and those suffering from disabilities and/or mental illness. 4.2 Promoting and encouraging security, the prevention of crime and the reduction in the fear of crime in the interests of social welfare throughout the Operating Area, with particular emphasis on addressing the specific needs of vulnerable sections of the community. and 4.3 Promoting, establishing, operating and/or supporting other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community within the Operating Area.
