3.1 The Charitable Purposes of the SCIO ('the Charitable Purposes') are: 3.1.1 To advance education by demonstrating the contribution of native woodlands towards biodiversity and mitigation of and adaptation to climate change. 3.1.2 To advance the arts, heritage, culture or science by encouraging and supporting research into the benefits of native and urban trees and woodlands and by disseminating the results and evaluation of relevant research. and 3.1.3 To advance environmental protection or improvement by raising awareness and enabling the sustainable management of native woodlands for environmental improvement, conservation of heritage or the health and wellbeing of rural and urban communities.
