To relieve distress by the provision of improved capacity, facility and resources to identify the extent and nature of, and offer treatment methods at the forefront of modern technology for diseases suffered by those citizens served by Aberdeen Royal Hospitals NHS Trust. To advance education and research by the creation of areas of expertise and repute and to facilitate and promote research in the management of benign haematology and malignant disease. To facilitate and promote undergraduate and post graduate teaching in The Anchor Unit. To facilitate and promote an increase and improvement in the service provided in the fields of Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy to the patients of Aberdeen Royal Hospitals NHS Trust. Any other purpose which would enhance and develop the work of The Anchor Unit as may be approved by the Trustees.
