About Forth Rivers Trust
4.1 The overarching object of the Company is the advancement of environmental protection and improvement of all habitats and wildlife throughout the catchment of the River Forth, including all waters which enter the Forth Estuary and Firth of Forth, and any other such body of water and catchment area in Scotland and/or the wider UK, through a combination of the following (non-exhaustive) activities:- 4.1.1 catchment scale restoration for healthy, vibrant and resilient ecosystems, including positive land use and management. 4.1.2 using evidence and nature-based approaches to undertake environmental and sustainability monitoring and promote nature recovery, including but not limited to collaborating with research bodies. 4.1.3 positive and inclusive engagement with the community. and 4.1.4 to promote such similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions in such proportions and manner as the Trustees shall think fit. The expressions ‘charitable purpose’ or ‘charitable object’ shall mean a charitable purpose under section 7 of the 2005 Act which is also regarded as a charitable purpose in relation to the application of the Taxes Acts and a ‘charitable institution’ shall mean a charity in terms of the 2005 Act which is also regarded as a charity in relation to the application of the Taxes Acts, or a charity under the law of any other jurisdiction which is also regarded as a charity in relation to the application of the Taxes Acts, provided that nothing in these Articles shall authorise an application of the property of the Company other than in furtherance of a charitable purpose.
