The association is established to promote the benefit of people with learning disabilities aged 18 and over, living within Greater Belfast and surrounding areas of Northern Ireland (hereinafter "area of benefit"); to relieve their disability and in particular: (a) to promote the independent living amongst people with learning disabilities within the area of benefit and promote their social preventing them from being socially excluded and by assisting them to participate as equal citizens in society; (b) to advance education amongst said people with learning disabilities and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving their conditions of life.
