The Trustees shall hold the Trust Funds for such purposes as are recognised by law as exclusively charitable for the purposes of taxation and to the extent that the same are charitable shall be applied for such one or more of the following purposes ('the Purposes') as the Trustees in their sole discretion consider fit:- (1) The relief of poverty by assisting in the rehabilitation of sick and distressed children, families and communities within the former Yugoslavia and the promotion of exchange programmes for such distressed families between the UK and the former Yugoslavian states (2) The encouragement, promotion and advancement of the arts and music among the people of the former Yugoslavia (3) The fostering, promotion and encouragement of new methods of work in public institutions including in particular prisons by the interchange, publication and dissemination of research, relevant experience and analysis (4) The promotion and encouragement of sound community development including without prejudice to the foregoing generality the provision o( training to avail persons of opportunities in the work place and the dissemination of such good community development and practice among member states of the Council of Europe
