About Dr William Baird Ross Trust

The fundamental purposes of the Trust are that the capital shall be held by the Trustees and the income of such part of it as the Trustees may think fit (after providing for expenses) shall be paid each third year after the signing of the Deed as a prize in Scotland for a Composition of Church Music. The prize will be by open competition for Organists and Church Musicians in Scotland to be made known by an advertisement in the Journal of the Incorporated Association of Organists or other publications or in the public press but such advertising will be at the discretion of the Trustees and in keeping with the resources available to meet the cost. Subject to the rules contained in the Clause I confer on the Trustees absolute power to decide how the competitions should be carried through and how compositions submitted should be judged including power to invite adjudicators to examine them or to hear them being performed and to pay such adjudicators their requisite fees.
