(1) To advance education and, in particular (i) to increase understanding of the theory and practice of community development and its role in relieving poverty, disadvantae and social exclusion through the publication of the Community Development Journal (ii) to stnnulate and disseminate research into the causes and effects of poverty, social disadvantage and social exclusion and into the contribution which community development may make to the relief of same, and to publish the results of such research (Iii) to promote and disseminate the theory, skills and practices of community development. (2) To promote, establish, operate and/or support other schemes and projects of a charitable nature for the benefit of the general public.
