4.1 To advance education. and 4.2 To advance environmental protection, and in particular reduce the adverse impact on the environment of global warming through assisting in the wider adoption of renewable energy sources (particularly solar power) through the provision of education and training (with a particular emphasis on unemployed people living in Scotland or Africa) focussed on solar power technologies and associated fields, allowing the participants to acquire skills which will assist them in obtaining paid employment (whether in the solar power sector or elsewhere) and contribute towards community development (particularly in economically deprived communities in Africa).
