To promote all or any purposes for the benefit of the population of Northern Ireland hereinafter called ('the area of benefit") which are now or may hereafter be deemed by law to be charitable and in particular to advance education and relieve poverty through the provision of educational facilities in the interests of social welfare in a local community location or community environment with the object of improving the conditions of life of the inhabitants of the area of benefit. (a) to promote co-operation between communities within the area of benefit through partnership programmes working relevant organisations (e.g. community/voluntary, statutory, private, police etc.) in order to relieve poverty and advance education. (b) to promote the development of sustainable partnerships within diverse communities and across public and private sectors to achieve the aim set out in 3(1). (c) to provide information, advice, support, encouragement and training to individuals and organisations with a view to building a more peaceful society in the area of benefit.
