The organisation's charitable purposes are: (a) advancement of environmental protection or improvement. (b) the advancement of citizenship or community development. (c) the advancement of education. And in furtherance of these purposes Biggar Area Climate: 4.1 Raise awareness of climate change, its impacts and ways of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. 4.2 Run activities and projects which help people in Biggar and the surrounding area to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. 4.3 Run activities and projects which help people in Biggar and the surrounding area to adapt to the effects of climate change. 4.4 Provide information on how to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and on the effects of climate change. 4.5 Campaign for measures which will reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the Biggar area. 4.6 Encourage volunteering to support the above. 4.7 Raise funds from grants and donations to support the above. 4.8 The operational focus of the group shall be Biggar and the surrounding area (broadly equating to the ML12 6 postcode area)
