4 The organisation's purpose is to advance education by... 4.1 The promotion of community development, involvement, participation and engagement of pupils, their families, carers, significant adults and guardians, and the wider community within the Alford Academy school catchment area. 4.2 Working in partnership with the school to create a welcoming school which is inclusive for all. 4.3 Promoting collaborative working between parents, guardians, carers, significant adults, families and the school. 4.4 Developing ways to actively engage parents, guardians, carers and significant adults to support children’s education, the welfare of the pupils and improve their outcomes. 4.5 Identifying and representing the views of all parents, guardians, carers and significant adults on the education provided by the school and other matters affecting the education and well-being of the pupils. 4.6 Endeavouring to foster and encourage a policy of communication and contact with other Parent Councils in the area. 4.7 Ensuring the Parent Council maintains its policies and procedures in line with any and all legal requirements for parent councils within Scotland
