Family Violence Shelters: It is a secure and anonymous place for women & their children to receive support while they are fleeing violence. Family Centre: The Centre is for children up to age 5. We focus on mental and physical wellness and our programs are for families and parents in need of a space to engage with their children through play and learning. Transitional Housing: We offer supportive temporary and emergency housing options to women and families. Within the Transitional Housing Program we also offer Focus Employment Program Cooking and Nutrition Program and Literacy & Computer Skills. Focus invests in people first and assists clients in finding employment by providing clients with basic career development support advice and guidance. The Cooking & Nutrition Program teaches basic principles of good nutrition. The Literacy & Computer Skills Program works with clients and children to assist with literacy skills and basic computer skills. Lynn's Place: Safe Housing for Women Lynn's Place offers a stable safe affordable place to call home for women who need safe housing after leaving a violent relationship or who are ready to find stability in a safe environment. After-School Childcare Program: The after-school program is available at various schools in Yellowknife. The staff provides a wide variety of exciting indoor and outdoor activities to keep children engaged and entertained for ages JK - up to age 11. Youth Program: YWCA NWT youth programs - GirlSpace Dudes Club and Project Child Recovery - build self-esteem promote community involvement and help youth make healthy choices.
