About Ymhc Charitable Foundation
YMHC continues to deliver its core mental wellness workbooks and resources in English and French while offering workshops and presentations for students (elementary to postsecondary) parents/caregivers and education professionals. The organization maintains its School Phobia Training Course providing education on supporting students with chronic absenteeism. Their Heart-to-Heart campaign launched in January 2024 engages schools in creating peer support teams and sending supportive messages to students absent due to mental health challenges. YMHC introduced several initiatives in 2024-2025 including the translation of Sources of Strength workbook into Inuktitut for Nunavut communities development of five new mental wellness booklets/printables and creation of a student workbook 'My Experience of School: Upstream Chronic School Absenteeism Prevention.' The organization is launching two new online certification courses: the Youth Wellness Action Plan (YWAP) and School-Wide Strategies to Support Students with School Phobia along with coordinating their first national virtual conference on chronic school absenteeism scheduled for May 2025.
