Woodlawn United Church

We provide weekly worship services on sunday with ministry and pastoral care during the rest of the week to 431 (verify) households with 915 (verify) individuals on an on-going basis in the dartmouth east pastoral charge of the united church of canada. Financial support is provided to the mission & service fund of the united church of canada for its world wide mission and service activities. Community groups are hosted or use our facilities for their endeavors. The east dartmouth christian food bank uses our facilities and are supported financially by woodlawn united church and 4 other area churches. The united church women (ucw) operates a used clothing program in our heritage center. Throughout the year small groups (boy scouts girl guides tai chi aa alanon new horizons band d.c.c.a. N.s. Woodcarvors mayflower quilters and others) used our buildings. Fear of covid and age of parishioners continues to reduce activity in programs that require people to gather in person so wuc provides online/live streaming services. Accessibility solutions continue to evolve to enable members of the congregation and the wider community to fully participate in programs of the church. Our heritage center (built in 1884) continues to receive maintenance and upgrades to allow clients of the food bank and ucw dun-gen clothing program to take part in these programs. The live-streaming capability for sunday services and other technology continues to evolve and improve our ability to provide services to the community at large
