Winchester United Church

On a weekly basis we offer religious services Bible Study and meditation ping pong club and music programs. ( choir and Hand Bell choir)Our volunteers help the House of Lazarus' weekly Breakfast Club and Dinner on the House program in our facilities. Our facilities are given free of charge to support the work of this mission. We donate to two local food banks; House of Lazarus and Community Food Share as well as the local Snowsuit/Christmas fund and the area church camp. A child was sponsored to the same camp this year. We support the Mission and Service Fund through the United Church of Canada. Our Christmas Day turkey dinner delivers meals to the community free of charge and with the help of many volunteers. We also supported a large family with Christmas gifts gas and food cards through the Adopt-A-Family program. All of these programs would not be available without the help of many volunteers. Our facilities have been offered free of charge as a meeting place for various activities and workshops that benefit the community. Grief Counseling workshops on food preparation local hospice programs and information on human trafficking were the focus of some of these sessions. Special projects were supported both monetarily and with volunteers throughout the year for example the Canadian Food Grain Bank Handyman Heroes and the Backpack program associated with the House of Lazarus Mission.
