Whisca is a community-centered initiative dedicated to empowering individuals through comprehensive services in community development education health agriculture micro-business and leadership. Below is a brief outline of our ongoing programs: health programs whisca’s health initiatives focus on both physical and mental well-being. In recent years we conducted a trauma healing program facilitated by professional trauma healers. This program offered crucial support to individuals struggling with the aftermath of emotional and psychological distress. Additionally we are actively engaged in improving menstrual health and hygiene by sewing and distributing reusable menstrual pads to schoolgirls particularly those in poverty-stricken households. This project ensures that girls don’t miss school due to lack of menstrual products and helps in breaking the cycle of shame associated with menstrual health. Micro-business development whisca has established a fully operational and registered farmers’ cooperative society to support local entrepreneurs and farmers. This cooperative aims at facilitating a savings and credit scheme enabling members to access affordable loans to invest in their small businesses. Leadership programs in the realm of leadership whisca successfully held the 2023 girls’ leadership and mentorship camp which hosted 200 young girls. During the camp participants received comprehensive training in leadership development personal growth and mentorship. These girls are now ambassadors of change in their schools and communities fostering a culture of female empowerment and leadership. The 2024 program is scheduled for 23rd to 31st october. Community service initiatives whisca’s commitment to sustainable agriculture remains one of the cornerstones of our community service.
