White Ribbon

White ribbon engages with men and boys in the prevention of all forms of gender-based violence and discrimination by promoting equity and transforming social norms attitudes and behaviors. Through our prevention work we: . Educate children and youth in our workshops webinars lesson plans e-courses and educational resources so they are allies for gender equality and embrace attitudes and behaviours based on respect healthy relationships and healthy masculinities; . Lead organizations in change management through helping workplaces and sectors develop policies strategies public education campaigns and training to address a wide range of gender-based violence prevention issues; and . Transform culturally through our large-scale social marketing campaigns to create a new social norms based on equality and respect. In 2024 white ribbon placed increased attention on developing and delivering programming that addressed online hate and violence including responding to the incel movement and additional forms of online misogyny and discrimination. We also deepened out evaluation of our programming through the contracting of third-party evaluators in order to demonstrate our programs' effectiveness at changing values attitudes and behaviours. We also conducted two original research studies to understand how radical ideologies that promote misogyny and discrimination are experienced in rural communities and within ontario's education social services and mental health sectors. In addition we commissioned a poll to gather information on adult canadians' understanding of the manosphere to support the development of a large-scale public education campaign to be launched in early 2025.
