Westside Presbyterian Church

Worship: westside embraces biblically-based relevant and uplifting sermons. Our worship services engage the congregation through scripture readings drama and prayer accompanied by a diverse selection of both traditional and contemporary music. Pastoral care: our pastoral care ministry is a collective effort. The minister frequently oversees emergency and palliative care conducts home communion and shares home visitation responsibilities with elders the pastoral care committee and other volunteers. Special events for shut-ins and elderly members include home communion and the distribution of flowers candy cards and christmas cookies. Missions and ministries: in 2024 the missions group continued to support a range of charities allowing westside to participate in outreach that address both local and global needs. Locally we support organizations such as the cambridge food bank the trinity food table the dawn centre and the bridges. Globally we partner with world vision to support relief eforts in various regions and sponsor a child geomaira estef in ecuador. We also contribute to the work of ontario christian gleaners. In partnership with scripture union we hosted sports camps for children in the community offering an affordable and enriching experience that combines athletic activities with biblical teachings. The westie bears knitting ministry continues to thrive. This dedicated group of knitters meets every wednesday to create comforting teddy bears for individuals in need. Known affectionately as 'westies ' these bears are distributed to local organizations and members of the westside congregation including the cambridge fire department st andrews terrace long term care home stirling heights long term care home the dawn centre and cambridge memorial hospital.
