West Chilcotin Search and Rescue Society

The society provides training to volunteers in first aid orientation outdoor survival and ground search and rescue techniques. They assist the rcmp bc ambulance service bc coroners service parks canada and the dept. Of national defence in emergency situations search and rescue of missing persons evidence search emergency evacuations body recover and first aid or as otherwise needed. The society promotes outdoor safety and education to local community members and to visitors in the area. They also assist other search and rescue groups in the bcsar as directed by the provincial emergency programs. The total number of hours spent in various search and rescue activities by the members in 2024 was more than 2505 including specialty training.
