WSP promotes the work of senior professional Canadian Theatre Artists who are aged 55 and better and provides educational and performance opportunities for senior entertainment professionals. WSP inspires celebrates and promotes the vibrant contributions of our Canadian senior theatre professionals with the creation of videos full of great stories and memories from these artists through our communications website and networks. Completed Programs We completed the Ontario Seniors Community Grant for 2023/24 for Musical Musings performing six one-hour sing-a-long concerts in the GTA. Report was filed at the completion of this grant. Two of the concerts had to be re-scheduled to after the grant period due to illness/lock downs in those locations. We received thank you letters after each of these concerts with requests to return as soon as possible. If funding is available for 2025-26 with the Ontario Seniors Community grant we will contact these locations again. Initiatives We produced a short promotional video for Musical Musings and this is posted on our WSP website on the Musical Musings page. We applied for the Toronto Fringe Festival but were not chosen in the lottery. Government Funding We applied for funding to the Federal New Horizons for Seniors grant (NHSP) for a new Musical Revue (With a Song in My Heart) plus a free Community Choir in partnership with South Riverdale Community Health Centre (SRCHC).
