About Watershed Community
Through weekly teaching fellowship and worship meetings we seek to deepen our relationship with God and the patterning of our lives after Jesus. Our studies this year looked at the biblical books of The Psalms and Ephesians. We also looked at a course on Reframing God as we seek to understand how our changing world helps us reflect differently on God. We maintain a website that explores spiritual themes in scripture literature and contemporary culture. We baked for various inner-city groups and contributed to fundraising events for various inner city schools. We held regular movie nights exploring spiritual themes in movies. We also practiced regular spiritual mentorship. We continue to support an inner-city group seeking to provide life-skills and recreation to inner city residents. We contribute to an ongoing fund called Tikkun flowers (Hebrew - meaning the mending of the world) to gift people with flowers when they are going through grief or difficult times. We held several backyard concerts to celebrate the gifts of music and hope. We held a Fall retreat to reflect on what prayer means in a modern context. We celebrated the gift and beauty of the created order and sought to find ways to raise our awareness of the issues associated with climate change as well as ways we could redress the harms we have down to creation.
