Waseskun

Waseskin provides a residential progra for aboriginal men who are sent from prison a probation setting or from a community wishing on alternative to incarceration. The philosophy and treatment given of aseskin is based upon traditional values and seeks to find a balance between the needs of rehabilitaiton. Treatment of the underlying cause of the individuals devient behaviour. Waseskin receives only native and inuit clients. Staff and board members are 90% native. Waseskin is a fully accredited drug and alcohol treatment facility with contracts for services with the solicitor general of canada the quebec dept of public security along with several band councils. Waseskin's programs generally are for a period of 6-12 months depending on the needs of the individual client.
