• Held an AGM. Elections • In-person meetings except for instances of weather conducted on ZOOM. Educational speakers on historical topics advertised and open to the public. Topics oncalendar of events and Facebook page. Attendance 30 - 40 persons.• Presented four Grade 8 history awards.• History scholarships at three high schools.• Produced a historical calendar with the theme of Family Milestones.• Participated in Marshville Heritage Festival the Wainfleet Farmers’ Market and Wainfleet Christmas Markets. Remembrance Day ceremonies at the Cenotaph.• Olde Tyme picnic in July.• Two WHS members led the group on an interpretive walk of Morgan’s Point. • Talks by three of our members who came to Wainfleet from other countries Talks were presented outdoors on the Marshville Heritage Village grounds.• Wainfleet Fall Fair parade. • Renewed with Ontario Historical Society.• Maintained a presence on Facebook at www.facebook.com/WainfleetHistoricalSociety.• Fielded enquiries received on our email [email protected]. • Collected membership dues of $5 for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. • Continued working with the Township of Wainfleet and the Wainfleet Library to establish a Wainfleet Archives Room when the library undergoes its planned expansion.• Set up and manned a display at the annual Wainfleet Community Open House. • Advertised our activities including upcoming meetings each month in the Port Colborne-Wainfleet Monthly a local free newspaper • Create a perennial garden at the Cenotaph. Cost to be shared with the Township of Wainfleet. Work done by WHS volunteers.• Work with the Township of Wainfleet and the Wainfleet Library to establish the Wainfleet Archives room when further progress becomes possible.• As two public elementary schools in Wainfleet are closing and will merge into one new school we are working with school administration to collect and preserve items/information of historical interest from these schools.• Planned for June 202
