Volunteer canada provides national leadership promoting volunteerism in canada. The organization supports volunteerism and civic participation through ongoing program resource development training and national initiatives. Volunteer canada working collaboratively with partners from the charitable and voluntary government and corporate sectors promotes volunteerism to canadians and builds the capacity of the organizations to engage citizens as volunteers. Ongoing programs include national dialogues on volunteerism national volunteer week research employer-supported volunteer programs volunteer screening the canadian code for volunteer involvement a national advisory council of volunteer centres a volunteer centre trainers network skill based volunteering and volunteer centre capacity building membership and outreach. Volunteer canada supports organizations to re-engage volunteers and rebuild volunteer engagement infrastructure. It also supports to create greater awareness understanding access and applicaiton of data related to giving and volunteering. Enhancing multi-stakeholder efforts by promoting partnerships and bridging efforts across sectors in support of the 2030 agenda. Further we are developing unique skills-based volunteering initiatives that support the needs of community housing providers. During 204fy we launched the roadmap to the national volunteer action strategy. We also launched the development of an intergenerational volunteerism hub.
