Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada ) is a not-for-profit national health care organization and the leading provider of rehabilitation therapy and health care services for individuals with vision loss across Canada. We provide training that enables people who are blind or partially sighted to develop or restore key daily living skills helping enhance their independence safety and mobility. Our certified specialists work closely with ophthalmologists optometrists and other health care professionals providing essential care on a referral basis in homes and communities across Canada. Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC) has partnered with various organizations to increase the delivery of Diabetic Retinopathy screening services through the Eye Health Screening Initiative to support a client’s full continuum of diabetes care while decreasing risks associated with Diabetes and Diabetic Retinopathy. VLRC’s Eye Health Screening Initiative utilizes Canada’s first Health Canada approved automated Diabetic Retinopathy screening software (AI retinal image screening). The program will support individuals in remote and/or rural communities indigenous communities and vulnerable populations like frail seniors with minimal access to eye care services and improve population health outcomes with respect to vision care.
