Victoria Hospice Society

Since 1980 victoria hospice has been playing a critical role providing physical emotional and spiritual care for people facing death and bereavement in this community. Our nurses counselors spiritual caregivers physicians and trained volunteers provide comofrt for the patient and support for the family rather than a cure for progressive and life-limiting illness. Care is offered in patients' homes within our 18-bed in-patient unit and as specific medical consultation to patients in other health care facilities. We aslo provide bereavement services following the death of a loved one from our community support centre and engage in education training and research to develop evidence-based cilinical practices and advance the field of palliative care across canada and around the world. Almost half of victoria hospice's funding comes from the generosity of donors and communtiy partners.
