United way halton & hamilton raises funds in the community and allocates them to registered charitable organizations within the communities of halton & hamilton. United way has seed feed and root funding streams that contribute to: 1. Poverty to possibility 2. Healthy people strong communities 3. All that kids can be. United way itself contributes to other initiatives such as our community donation warehouse which provides donated gift-in-kind items to community agencies as well as other initiatives such as organizational development financial empowerment period promise social innovation labs and labour community services. United way halton & hamilton has taken part in a $400 million investment from the government of canada to support charities and non-profits as they build resilience by making investments in their people organizations and program innovation through the community services recovery fund which supports organizations as they adapt to the long-term impacts of the covid-19 pandemic. The fund is a collaboration between united way centraide cnada canadian red cross and community foundations of canada to provide funding to community service organizations including non-profit organizations indigenous governing bodies and registered charities across canada.
