Raises funds and volunteer resources to; 1) support basic needs (food and financial supports) 2) support children and families with programs that promote literacy numeracy social inclusion mental health and educational attainment 3) support residents and resident engagement in developing community solutions with those living in priority neighbourhoods United Way provides planning research and training to residents service providers and other community stakeholders to support this work as well as promoting community engagement and volunteerism across Windsor-Essex. United Way also delivers programming to; - assist youth at risk of not graduating high school and help them move and maintain places in post-secondary education / skilled trades - feed kids nutritious lunches over the summer when school meal programs do not operate - provides school supplies for students in grades JK-12
