UNITED SIKHS Canada Old programs running: 1. Feed The Hungry in London ON (Monthly) and Toronto (Quarterly). Through this program we provide hot cooked food to homeless people. At each event we serve 150 to 170 people approx. 2. Seminars and Workshops for Students Mental Health: We provide education and awareness at Gurdwaras and Community halls. 3. Information Table set up: We set up our information booths at Nagar Kirtans where we fund raise and also provide information about our programs and projects. 4. UMEED Helpline: We Launched Helpline phone number in Canada in the summer of 2023 the UMEED helpline in Canada is currently offering counseling resources and guidance to individuals embroiled in personal crises in Peel Region of Ontario. This service is on phone. UMEED meaning 'hope' in Punjabi is a 24-hour phone helpline that aims to provide crucial support and guidance to individuals battling various challenges in their lives. The helpline offers a safe space for those going through a personal crisis to access resources in mental health support substance abuse counseling domestic abuse counseling legal aid any kind of special support service. The UMEED helpline in Canada is currently offering counseling resources and guidance to individuals embroiled in personal crises in Peel Region of Ontario. 5. New Program we launched in May 2024 for Drug deaddiction program name is Vaapsi (Return To Life) through this program Our primary objective is to identify youth at risk of drug abuse gang involvement and violence and to intervene directly by offering them the support and guidance needed to lead safe law-abiding lives within the community. Through the Vaapsi program we also engage with the broader community by visiting public spaces to provide vital information on drug awareness and overdose prevention.
