Weekly prayer/spiritual meetings psalm and a cappella singing/choirs for children/youth/adults; cooperate with other spiritual/secular organizations; publication espousing doukhobor spiritual beliefs/activities; traditional memorial services for deceased doukhobor leaders;traditional funerals/weddings; dedicated to preserving traditional values/customs art/crafis; promote peace social justiceand respect; workgroups in organization’s places of worship/heritage sites; annual financial and other donations to local/national charitable organizations workingto assist those in need local educational institutions/scholarships talent nights/festivals annually showcase doukhobor life concept andspiritual and cultural heritage; prayer meetings on easter/christmas eve/day newyear’s eve/day; counsel people suffering loss or hardship;mail three annual newsletters ensure well being of doukhobor life concept. Community kitchen focusing on traditional vegetarian food preparation; community based supporting doukhobor life concept and cultural values. Registered preschool with curriculum based on the doukhobor life concept. When covid-19 restrictions were put in at the end of march 2020 in-person activities and events were suspended. The preschool continued to operate under strict covid protocols. Member outreach was accomplished through virtual prayer meetings weekly emails to membership and friends of the uscc with at least four hymns psalms and folksongs monthly emails with previously recorded festival and talent night programmes for membership to view. Work to promote peace social justice and respect continued through virtual meetings. Zoom licences were acquired allowing various groups to initiate meetings to discuss our psalms and other spiritual topics. Our executive director made calls to check on the wellbeing of our elders and continues to support the families at covid safe funerals. Psalmists also support families at graveside practicing covid regulations.
