The tumour foundation of bc remains committed to providing vital support care and educational programs to individuals and families affected by neurofibromatosis (nf) our programs include: -1:1 support via the nf health line: in 2024 we expanded this service by adding a nurse to enhance the support we provide. -up to date information: we continue to offer the latest guidelines for nf management and treatment through our annual symposium the development of new educational publications and our use of technology-driven support programs. -educational awards: we provide scholarships to youth with nf pursuing post-secondary education. -awareness campaigns: these campaigns aim to support undiagnosed individuals in the community raise awareness about nf and promote greater tolerance and acceptance for those affected by the visible impacts of the disease. -family funding: we offer financial support for medical equipment such as orthotics knee braces and hearing aids when other resources are not available. Leadership development: in october 2023 the charity launched an initiative to strengthen leadership within nf organizations across canada by hosting the national nf leaderships summit. This event served as a powerful platform for networking knowledge-sharing and fostering collaborative discussions among nf patient care organizations. Workshops focused on unifying messaging raising public awareness and enhancing social media efforts.
