Research & record community history; maintain with assistance of the tryon river watershed cooperative the walking trails picnic areas and viewing platforms at lord's pond and along the tryon river record oral history from area seniors; transcribe journals; provide tours of local historic sites and the tryon museum; host a booth at the local exhibition; interpret the human and natural history of the community along the tryon river and lord's pond memorial park; supervise rotating waddell scrapbooks at the local library; maintain a website www.tryonhistoricalsocitey.com and facebook page. Host other community organizations including historical societies and women's institutes at the tryon museum; transcribe diaries and journals pertaining to community history; participate in canada day celebrations; continue the restoration of the 19th century abandoned tryon christian church cemetery; assist in the elmer muttart memorial installation; give over 24 presentations to groups in summer outreach historical educational programs to the local daycare and school summer camps; complete digitization of scrap books; make a presentation at willowshade iathe; host 252 visitors to the museum approximately 400 to the trail and 391 at other presentations.
