Trout River Environmental Committee Incorporated

Planted 2 109 trees and shrubs protecting many with tree cages. Restored 2km of streams to improve fish access and breeding areas. Removed invasive species from 7km of streams as well as parks and private land. Hosted 4 public environmental education events. Performed water quality monitoring fish counts stream health assessments. Maintained walking trails in our two parks. Undertook joint projects with other environmental groups Parks Canada and other organizations. Employed 4 summer students for 15 weeks and one for 16 plus an intern to work on these environmental programs. Performed stationary and mobile bat monitoring. Performed regular lab tests for nitrate levels in stream water samples. Helped with Canada Goose banding. Preformed shoreline cleanups after hurricane Fiona. Hosted 2nd Riverbank Heritage Day event. Continued Amphibian Monitoring Headwater Surveys.
