This transfer occurred on june 1 2021. Triumf inc. Continued with the ongoing programs in particle physics nuclear physics nuclear astrophysics life sciences research molecular and materials science research and radiopharmaceutical research and production established by its predecessor. The purpose of the corporation is: to advance education by operating canada’s national particle accelerator centre for nuclear physics and accelerator-based sciences; to advance education by conducting research in accelerator-based science and technology and related fields of research and by disseminating the results of such research to the public; to promote health by producing medical isotopes and by developing treatments and applications in the field of nuclear medicine for the health sector; and to identify research and data that can be commercialized into marketable products and technologies for the economic social environmental and health benefit of all canadians.
