Tri-Town Museum Society

Normal-post covid operations continued this year. We operated from the may long weeking untilthe end of august; unfortunately we were unable to open for truth & reconciliation day in september due to staffing shortages. Numerous school tours were again carried out but were somewhat hindered by the forest fire situation here in alberta. Attendance was up t 4 713 which we were pleased with almost 1 000 more than 2023. This averaged 67 visitors per day 457 families came through the gate and almost 400 veterans seniors and canadian forces members. We gave 13 group tours with 2 in the the off season in september of 28 each. Canada day weekend saw 382 visitors. Every year we like to add new displays this years was the acquisition of a cf-18 hornet to our outdoor displays. We also added a fresh coat of paint to the radar dome which along with our other planes really enhanced our museum; many positive comments were received. For the fist time in many years we entered a float in the city's canada day parada and handed out free passes to the museum which were a great hit. We were also able to announce that we were slated to get a ct-155 hawk which should be arriving sometime in 2025. We also had two guest speaker lectures this year which unfortunately were not as well attended as we had hope fore however we will try again in 2025. We also opened the gift shop for christmas and special requests. Capital projects include starting work on our 'power plant' building which will be a new cold war era themed museum ongoing grounds work and still pursuing capital funding for the observation tower. Ongoing building upgrades were also included in this years capital program.
