We continued the economic development program for the poor providing small business training using the Street Business School materials in Burundi. Provided funding support to re-build the maternity wing of a hospital that was dangerously degraded such that women could not attend pre-natal services and give birth but rather would need to travel hours away to the next facility. Access to basic healthcare within a reasonable distance is seen as a basic necessity. The program also provided hot water for showers and healthcare and training space for patients and staff. Provided funds to support primary education in the Masai Mara. Provided funds for education support and skills training for poor children and youth in Rwanda. Provided funds for a training program for women sewing menstrual pads in Rumphi District Malawi. This was both an economic development program providing marketable skills and also a program that address hygiene and sanitation by introducing reusable menstrual pads.
