As the busiest wildlife centre in the country every day communities rely on Toronto Wildlife Centre (TWC) for help. Staffed and equipped specially for wildlife medicine TWC's wildlife emergency hospital is the only one of its kind in the country. The team is made up of experienced veterinarians and veterinary technicians as well as veterinary specialists who volunteer their time to save wild animals. TWC's wildlife hotline is the busiest in Canada handling approximately 30 000 calls each year regarding a large range of wildlife issues. Trained in ice rescue swift water rescue tree climbing oil spill response chemical immobilization and more TWC's highly skilled wildlife rescue team is the only one of its kind in Canada and performs difficult life-saving rescues every day. TWC's wildlife rehabilitation program provides specialized care housing and nutrition for over 6 000 animals annually representing over 300 different specials - from foxes to hummingbirds to turtles!
