About Toronto Urban Native Ministry
1. Pastoral care & community outreach - at hospitals community centres and in downtown toronto core 2. Liturgical & ceremonial facilitation - offers funerals rites of passage etc to community members 3. Healing circles - healing for residential school survivors 4. Employees help & counsel those re-entering the community from hospitals institutions and jails 5. Cultural knowledge traditional indigenous music celebrations feasts and teachings are held to provide community members awareness about indigenous culture 6. Niigaani-gichigami water festival - multiple workshops and gatherings developed to facilitate dialogue around our relationship with water and first nations rights 7. Neechee circle - staff facilities weekly sharing and prayer circle for indigenous peoples in allen gardens 8. Prison chaplaincy - staff offer weekly programs to incarcerated peoples at toronto south detention centre. Staff offer pastoral counselling to prisoners connect them to resources and support them with the transition back into the community life upon release from jail
