The Whole Dyslexic Society

Bursaries - We advocate Davis Dyslexia Correction programs for reading writing math and focussing. We provide financial assistance for Davis programs to those in dire financial need. Outreach - We provide free information sessions reaching parents dyslexic individuals and their friends and families. We also provide Professional Development Day and Conference Sessions for schools school districts and literacy organisations we publish newsletters hold live webinars create podcasts and give media interviews. We completed a documentary film about Dyslexia funded and sponsored by Telus STORYHIVE. Prevention - We promote Davis Learning Strategies and host Workshops for K-3 Classroom teachers so they can learn skills to reach all the children in their classes regardless of learning style. In addition we have a program in development in Kakamega County Kenya supporting learners who are dyslexic by providing training to development remedial tutors and parents. We completed a Early Child Education Professional Development Pilot - Funding and sponsorship provided by BC Ministry of Education and Child Care and Federal Government. Community - We provide subsidized in-person activities and family summer camp weekends for families with Dyslexic children.
