The Wasaga Beach Public Library Board

Many long-standing programs continued at the library throughout 2024. These included early childhood and family favorites like music & storytime and the rhythm of the beach drum circle as well as stitch-talk-walk a social knitting and walking group. Adult programming remained strong with the friday afternoon book club the wasaga beach writers club and the monthly genealogy interest group. Children and youth offerings included the pokémon club slime club and creation club which featured themed crafts like snow globes and puppet-making. The library also continued to host a french reading club for ages 5 to 13 as well as intergenerational storytimes and seasonal eventsfor holidays like easter halloween and christmas. Other recurring activities included pa day art workshops homeschool meet-ups for local families and virtual reality experiences such as vrcade and vr art projects. The wasaga beach public library delivers free and inclusive educational cultural and literacy programs for all age groups. These include early literacy storytimes tech literacy workshops youth arts and reading programs senior learning sessions music events and community engagement initiatives like genealogy circles and local art showcases. Programs are developed to meet community needs and support lifelong learning. In 2024 the wasaga beach public library launched several new programs that expanded its offerings for the community. Among them were the woven word symposium a full-day literary event held in november featuring workshops and local author talks and the georgian bay reads 2024 an inter-library literary debate nght hosted in october. Creative initiatives included the wasaga mosaic mural tile painting sessions for adults and families as well as hands-on workshops like beaded earrings upcycled book vase and tiny art blooms.
