The VFWC offers the following programs. Weekly community kitchen/ a safe place three times a week offers a space for women to share a meal news skills and information and to connect with one another. Weekly drop in Monday to Saturday where folks can access showers laundry phone internet and computer services as well as enjoy coffee and tea and a safe warm place to be. The Healthy Babies Healthy Futures program which supports maternal and infant health by supporting healthy diets community connection delivery breastfeeding and postpartum supports. The Women’s Advocate supports individuals to assess their options in time of crisis and navigate their way to their goals in complex health legal and other systems. The Rural Pregnant Mothers suite which offers a free place for rural mothers to stay while they deliver in Whitehorse. The Mom and kids’ program which offers summer recreation and connection to mothers and families. The free tax clinic as well as our annual campaigns to end gender-based violence and sexual assault. Our Youth Outreach team which promotes youth activism positive role models and programming for our youth along with the young feminists’ club and male allies program. The Sisterhood peer support program for moms with kids in the foster care system which helps participants build their self esteem and advocacy skills promoted family reunification and end the cycle of violence in families.
