About The Synod of the Diocese of Niagara
Founded in 1875 the Diocese of Niagara has been the local expression of the Anglican Church of Canada in Guelph and Hamilton the regions of Niagara and Halton as well as Wellington Haldimand and Dufferin counties. Seeking the advancement of religion and alleviation of poverty its parishes serve approximately 20 000 people. By providing administrative services regional worship opportunities pastoral care and educational training events for our clergy and staff we are advancing our Anglican faith tradition. We also offer a variety of religion-based programs including summer camps for children faith formation for youth and young adults refugee sponsorship as well as many poverty elimination social justice and environmental justice initiatives.
