The Switch YardRegistered

The switch yard is a youth centre that provides a safe healthy and encouraging environment focusing on youth in the age group of 13-24 years. We do not differentiate due to race colour creed and/or religious affiliation. We are open four days a week. Approximately 50 youth participate in programs including games computers arts life skills home work assistance sports movies court support community service discussion forums and referral to community agencies. The centre is staffed by trained workers and volunteers who provide positive role models and address the in the last 18 months a local church has been holding a bi-weekly sunday service in our facility and a number of the homeless in our community attend that service and are fed a well balanced meal at the end of each service. In addition a group of about 25 high school age young people gather for a bible study every wednesday after school. This program was started at the request of the young people.
