The St. Paul Island Historical Society

Our mandate is primarily: To document and preserve the written oral and visual history of Saint Paul Island by gathering any and all documentation photographs information material artifacts or other items that have an historical connection to St Paul Island. Our museum is open seven days a week to provide individual/group tours to visitors from all over the world. There are three main exhibit rooms as well as a small gift shop that also houses a rather expansive mariner library and a small cab site. From there visitors are taken on a tour of Canada‘s first cast iron lighthouse which is now 106 years old. This lighthouse which was removed from St Paul Island's south west end back in the 1960s was also the first granted historical status in Canada. We provide free accessible internet services to our visitors.
