The rekai centres ('the centre') was incorporated in 1988 under the corporations act (ontario) as a corporation without share capital and was the first multilingual long-term care facility in the city of toronto the centre is licensed for 126 residents at sherbourne place ('sp') and 150 residents at wellesley central place ('wcp'). The centre is currently operating based on a capacity of up to 90 residents at its sp location and up to 150 at the wcp location. Sp a class c bed facility had its operating capacity reduced from 126 beds to 90 beds as a result of the ministry of long-term care's covid-19 emergency measures funding policy
