Transportation: We develop tools to support rail decarbonization & monitor decarbonization efforts & best practices. We support the installation of new EV charging stations through a funding program which provides up to 50% of purchase & installation costs to eligible hosts. We conduct national surveys of EV owners to gauge the public EV charging experience & provide recommendations to industry & government on public EV charging. We assess the market readiness of emerging low-carbon on-road freight options. We research & conduct pilot projects on electric school buses & share findings with public & private sector stakeholders across Canada to accelerate deployment. Energy policy: We research & recommend pathways for a lower emissions energy system in Canada in electricity gas thermal & other energy sources & to create conditions for low-emission innovation. We work with communities to identify pathways to help them achieve their emissions reductions targets. We develop an understanding of the future of energy literacy & its relation to climate literacy & to translate energy policy & research for the general audience. We create & deliver webinars & other events to advance thinking for sector decision-makers & leaders. We measure & advance energy literacy in Canada. We manage Energy Ambassadors - a community engagement & capacity building program that supports participation in energy infrastructure consultation processes. Circular Economy: We accelerate the transition from a traditional 'take-make-waste' linear economy to a circular economy where waste is minimized & products & materials are reused remanufactured refurbished recycled & upcycled. We spearhead the Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup the single-largest initiative of its kind in the world using innovative litter capture technologies to collect remove & analyze plastics & other debris at marinas across the Canadian side of the Great Lakes. Water: We undertake the development of a working prototype
